On The Plate Today: Obama Wrong About Recent History

In his State of the Union speech, President Obama tried to paint the Bush era (2001-2009) as dismal, but they were not. The truth is, unemployment was below six percent until the last few months of President Bush's term. The war in Iraq was basically won, and things were going well in Afghanistan. The stock market was above ten thousand; and, there had not been another terror attack on Americans in this country since September 11, 2001.

It's been one year since Mr. Obama has taken office. Two, and nearly a third terror attacks have been inflicted on Americans in the United States. The national debt has risen in one year to unimaginable levels because of out of control spending by the Democrats in Congress, and the standing of America in the world has fallen significantly. Terror attacks are on the rise in Iraq, and more American soldiers are being killed in Afghanistan in a war that now has no clear objective.

President Obama thinks Americans have a short memory of what things were really like during the Bush years. He needs to take ownership of what his policies are doing to this nation and stop blaming others for what is going on now.
